The struggles for the Prince George Spruce Kings continued today (Sun) as they fell 7-3 to the Victoria Grizzlies.
Prince George got on the board at 18:45 of the first period off the stick of the Jake LeBrun to take a 1-0 lead at the intermission.
Victoria scored three unanswered goals in the middle frame to take a 3-1 lead courtesy of Tyler Welsh followed by a pair by Jake Stevens.
The Spruce Kings would close the gap before the end of the period when LeBrun scored his second of the game at 18:42 to make it 3-2 after 40 minutes.
Victoria would open the floodgates in the third scoring four consecutive goals from PJ Conlon, Keyvan Mokhtair and two more from Dante Hahn.
Bryan Basilico potted one at 18:21 of the third for P.G. to round out the scoring.
Liam McCloskey allowed 5 goals on 21 shots despite the Spruce Kings outshooting the Grizzlies 34-27 overall.
Prince George falls to 5-14-0-2 on the season and remains 5 points back of the final playoff spot in the Mainland Division.
The Spruce Kings head back on the road on Friday against the Wenatchee Wild before travelling to Chilliwack and Surrey on Saturday and Sunday.
