CNC hosts International Student Week

Students from all over the world have come together to launch CNC’s International Student Week.

CNC international operations assistant Tony Mei says it’s all part of their student leader program.

“We give them the opportunity to sign up and volunteer with a project. So their job is to create an event or activity and then join three others. So this motivates them to create their own event and check the others out.”

The week’s first event is a photo contest, which student Yi-Ming Zhao hopes will highlight first impressions of Canada and the differences of other countries.

“I wanted to share the experiences in the different countries with cultures and impressions of Canada for all the international students. I think it’s a very good way to share memories from different people with different perspectives.”

The photos will be on display throughout the week, and the celebration wraps up with a Multicultural Fair on Thursday.

Other events include an international film festival, and the ‘Pack Your Suitcase’ event.

CNC has roughly 300 international students.
