MLB: 

Toronto Blue Jays  10  Colorado Rockies   4

The Blue Jays have outscored the lowly Rockies 25-5 in the first two games of this series which will wrap up this afternoon (Wednesday 12:10 PT) in Denver.

The (67-48) Blue Jays lead the A.L. East by 3 games over the Boston Red Sox.

The Red Sox have won seven straight.

The (30-83) Rockies have the worst record in the Majors.

CFL: 

Week 10 of the CFL season begins Thursday night (4:30 PT) with the (3-5) B.C. Lions at the (6-2) Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Ti-Cats are riding a 6-game winning streak and lead the East Division.

BC Football Conference:

The Prince George Kodiaks have the bye this week in the BC Football Conference.

The (1-2) Kodiaks return to action on Saturday night August 16th at Masich Place Stadium when they entertain the (1-1) Langley Rams.

The game can be heard on Country 97 FM.

Langley will host the (0-2) Kamloops Broncos Saturday afternoon at 4:00.

Hockey:

Carson Carels of the Prince George Cougars is one of 11 WHL players on Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team that will compete at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

The tournament will be played August 11th to 16th in Czechia and Slovakia.

Carels is one of eight defencemen on the 25-player roster which also includes three goalies and 14 forwards.

City Council to discuss potential purchasing bylaw amendments

Prince George City Council will consider a notice of motion in regards to the disposal of assets at tomorrow's (Monday) meeting. The notice of motion was put forward by Councillors Cori Ramsay and Brian Skakun, and recommends that Council refers the City's purchasing bylaw to bring back options to better articulate section 5.3 of the bylaw. 

Nechako Valley claims PG Bowl win over College Heights

The Nechako Valley Secondary School Vikings are moving onto provincials following a 24-6 trouncing over College Heights in the PG Bowl. "The boys came to play, I'm super proud of them," said Nechako Valley Head Coach Sheldon Brown. 

Spruce Kings pick up win over Salmon Arm

The Prince George Spruce Kings scored early and often in a 4-1 win over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. Dracen Campbell got the 1,009 fans at Kopar Memorial Arena in to the game early, opening the scoring for the Spruce Kings just 4:08 into the first. 

Dumanski completes the Cougars’ comeback in Seattle

There's a reason they call him Big Game Bauer.Bauer Dumanski scored the goal that gave the Prince George Cougars a 4-3 overtime win over the Seattle Thunderbirds Saturday night.
