UNBC men delight the hometown crowd

The UNBC Timberwolves handed the Fraser Valley Cascades their first loss of the season in Canada West men’s basketball.

The UNBC men erased a 44-37 halftime deficit to upend the Cascades 81-74.

Fraser Valley drops to 4-1 while UNBC improves to 2-3.

In women’s basketball action, Fraser Valley outscored UNBC 80-68 which leaves the Lady Timberwolves 0-5 on the season.

The rematch goes Saturday (Nov 21) at the Northern Sport Centre with the women tipping off at 5 followed by the men at 7.

The PGSS Polars senior boys football team had its season come to an end following its only loss of the year.

#5 Carson Graham Eagles outscored the Polars 34-20 in the BC High School Football Association Provincial Double A quarter-finals in Kamloops.

Polars running back Isaac Rogers ran for 177 yards on 22 carries and scored three touchdowns.

Last week, PGSS whipped Robert Bateman 19-0 to become the first team from the Northern Conference to knock off a Lower Mainland opponent in the post-season.
