Timberwolves fall just short against Fraser Valley

The UNBC Timberwolves were competitive but lost their final Canada West basketball home games in 2015.

In men’s action Saturday, the Fraser Valley Cascasdes (5-1) edged UNBC 74-72.

Rhys Elliott hooped 24 points for the Timberwolves but missed a three point attempt at the end of the game.

The two teams split the doubleheader as UNBC won on Friday 81-74

In women’s play Saturday, Fraser Valley (4-2) knocked off UNBC 78-67 to sweep the double.

The Cascades outscored the Lady Timberwolves 80-68 Friday.

The UNBC men are 2-4 and the UNBC women are 0-6 with the Timberwolves to resume league play Friday and Saturday at Mount Royal.
