The (74-53) Blue Jays visit the (53-74) Pirates again today (Wednesday 9:35 AM PT) in the rubber match of their 3-game series.

Toronto leads the A.L. East by 5 games over the New York Yankees and by 6 over the Boston Red Sox.

UNBC Timberwolves:

A new season begins this week for the UNBC Timberwolves in Canada West soccer.

The Timberwolves host Thompson Rivers of Kamloops Friday night at 5:30 (women) and 8:00 (men) and Sunday afternoon at noon (women) and 2:30 (men).

BC Football Conference:

The Prince George Kodiaks visit the (0-4) Kamloops Broncos Saturday night at 6:00 in the BC Football Conference.

The (2-2) Kodiaks are tied with the Vancouver Island Raiders and the Langley Rams for third place with six regular season games left.

(The top 4 teams in the 7-team league make the playoffs)

The BCFC standings: Okanagan 4-0, Westshore 3-1, Vancouver Island, Prince George and Langley 2-2, Valley 1-3 and Kamloops 0-4.

CFL:

The B.C. Lions visit the (2-8) Toronto Argonauts Saturday at noon (PT).

The (5-5) Lions are tied with Winnipeg for 3rd in the West, two points behind Calgary, although both the Blue Bombers and Stampeders have a game in hand.

Week 12 of the CFL season begins Thursday (4:30 PM PT) with (5-4) Winnipeg at (5-5) Montreal.

City Council to discuss potential purchasing bylaw amendments

Prince George City Council will consider a notice of motion in regards to the disposal of assets at tomorrow's (Monday) meeting. The notice of motion was put forward by Councillors Cori Ramsay and Brian Skakun, and recommends that Council refers the City's purchasing bylaw to bring back options to better articulate section 5.3 of the bylaw. 

Nechako Valley claims PG Bowl win over College Heights

The Nechako Valley Secondary School Vikings are moving onto provincials following a 24-6 trouncing over College Heights in the PG Bowl. "The boys came to play, I'm super proud of them," said Nechako Valley Head Coach Sheldon Brown.
