For anyone who may not have been able to enjoy some summer weather, this upcoming week is another chance to do so.
According to Environment Canada, Prince George is forecast to see temperatures gradually climb through the weekend and into next week.
Thursday is expected to get as high as 32, which Operational Meteorologist Jennifer Kowal said is the day most likely to break a temperature record.
“If it goes to plan, Thursday would be a record breaker for that day, because the daily high max temperature for August 28th right now is actually only 31.1.”
Kowal added the upcoming week is expected to remain sunny, creating dry conditions.
She said the high temperatures and dry conditions means the fire danger will be higher, and reminds everyone to be careful when recreating.
Unless overnight temperatures increase, Kowal said Prince George isn’t expected to be under a heat warning.
The heat wave will also hit other parts of Northern BC, including Smithers, Vanderhoof, Peace region, and parts of the northwest.
