Local Mounties are at the scene of a motor vehicle incident involving a pickup truck and a B.C. Ambulance that occurred shortly after midnight.
“Our initial investigation shows the Emergency Health Services crew was traveling through the intersection when it was struck by the pickup truck. The occupants of the truck did not remain at the scene of the incident. Police officers are seeking any information on who may have been in the truck and are asking anyone with information to contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line,” stated Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Police say the occupants of the ambulance were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The intersection will remain closed for a significant period today (Friday) as the RCMP gather information from the scene.

BC Emergency Health Services issued the following statement to MyPGNow.com
“At 12:18 a.m. this morning a BCEHS ambulance was involved in a collision at Carney Street and 15th Avenue in Prince George. The ambulance did not have any patients on board at the time. An ambulance with primary care paramedics, an ambulance with advanced care paramedics and a paramedic supervisor responded to the scene. The two paramedics who were in the ambulance at the time of the collision received emergency medical treatment and transported to hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle did not remain at the scene and were not assessed or treated by paramedics.”
“We take the safety of our paramedics, patients and members of the public very seriously, and we will ensure the paramedics involved in this incident are receiving the support they need as they recover. The Prince George RCMP is currently investigating this incident, and we encourage anyone who witnessed the collision or has video footage to contact their non-emergency line at 250-561-3300.” – Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites.
