New website launched for Khasdzoon Yusk’ut Botanical Garden

The David Douglas Botanical Garden Society has put out a new website for the Khasdzoon Yusk’ut Botanical Garden.

The garden, located at UNBC, was gifted by the Lheidli T’enneh Elders Society with guidance from Elder Edith Rose Frederick.

“We are excited to share our story and progress with the community through our new website.” said Society board president, Catriona McLennan.

“Khasdzoon Yusk’ut represents more than just a garden. It’s a living expression of Indigenous knowledge, native plants, and community connection.”

The website showcases the garden’s development of the main 11-hectare botanical garden under construction, as well as the David Douglas Educational Display Garden.

The new website was made possible through a grant from Northern Initiatives, and can be found here.

A video was also released, showing the garden’s vision and construction progress through a generous grant from Tourism Prince George, which can be found here.
