The Prince George Cougars capped off the preseason with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Kamloops Blazers at the West Fraser Centre in Quesnel.
Dmitri Yakutsenak, a new import player for the Cougars, opened the scoring 15:17 into the opening frame, with Kayden Lemire and Carson Carels picking up assist.
JP Hurlbert, a new standout player for the Blazers, put Kamloops on the board early in the second with a powerplay marker.
Lee Shurgot put the Cats back in front 2:47 into the third period, but Hurlbert tied it just past the halfway point of the period, his second of the game and sixth of the preseason.
The Cougars had three powerplay opportunities in the third, but were unable to capitalize with the man-advantage.
Josh Evascehen scored the overtime winner with 36 seconds to go in the extra period.
Alexander Levshyn got the start in net for the Cougars, making 28 saves on 31 shots.
It was a team effort in net for the Blazers, Logan Edmonstone started the game, making nine saves on ten shots.
Kamloops brought Madex Kabrud in about halfway through the second, he made 20 saves on 21 shots.
