Toronto continues a 7-game road trip tonight (Wednesday 4:05) in Tampa Bay against the (73-78) Rays.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars open their regular season with a home doubleheader against the Portland Winterhawks Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.

The Prince George Spruce Kings start their regular season Friday night at 7:00 in Chilliwack against the Chiefs.

The Spruce Kings home opener is set for Friday, September 26th against the Surrey Eagles.

Canada West Soccer:

The UNBC Timberwolves are on the road this weekend in Canada West Soccer.

The 3-3-1 UNBC men visit Calgary Saturday (1 PM PT) and Mount Royal Sunday (2 PM PT).

The (0-7) UNBC women visit TRU in Kamloops Saturday afternoon at 1:00.

BC Football Conference: 

The Prince George Kodiaks have just two regular season games remaining in the BC Football Conference.

The (4-3-1) Kodiaks host the (0-7) Kamloops Broncos on Saturday, September 27th before closing on the road in Chilliwack against the Valley Huskers on October 4th.

Prince George is in 3rd place in the 7-team league with the top four to advance to the playoffs.

The BCFC standings: Okanagan 8-0 (clinched first place), Westshore 6-2, P.G. 4-3-1, Vancouver Island 2-4-1, Valley 2-4-1, Langley 2-4-1 and Kamloops 0-7.

NFL: 

Week 3 of the NFL season starts Thursday with the (0-2) New York Jets at the (2-0) Buffalo Bills.

The Bills are one of 10 teams unbeaten while the Jets are one of 10 that are winless.

The other 2-0 teams are LA Chargers, Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Green Bay, San Francisco, Arizona and LA Rams.

CFL: 

Week 16 of the season will begin Friday night at 4:00 (PT) with (6-7) Montreal at (5-8) Toronto.

The (6-7) B.C. Lions visit the (8-4) Calgary Stampeders Friday night at 6:30.

The Lions hold a cross-over playoff spot in the CFL with five regular season games remaining.

B.C. is tied with Winnipeg for 3rd in the West, but the Blue Bombers hold the tiebreaker.

CFL West: Saskatchewan 10-3, Calgary 8-4, Winnipeg 6-7, B.C. 6-7, Edmonton 5-8.
CFL East: Hamilton 8-5, Montreal 6-7, Toronto 5-8, Ottawa 4-9.
