WHL:

The 2025-26 WHL season has arrived.

After an absence of 5 1/2 months since last playing at CN Centre, the Prince George Cougars are ready for battle.

The Cougars open on home ice as they entertain the Portland Winterhawks tonight (Friday) at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.

BCHL:

The Prince George Spruce Kings start their BCHL regular season on the road.

The Spruce kings open in Chilliwack tonight (Friday) at 7:00 against the Chiefs.

Their home opener is a week away on Friday, September 26th against the Surrey Eagles.

Canada West Soccer:

The UNBC Timberwolves are on the road in Canada West Soccer.

The 3-3-1 UNBC men play at Calgary Saturday (1 PM PT) and at Mount Royal Sunday (2 PM PT).

The (0-7) UNBC women visit TRU in Kamloops Saturday afternoon at 1:00.

MLB: 

Tampa Bay Rays  4  Toronto Blue Jays  0

The Blue Jays visit the (76-77) Kansas City Royals in a 3-game series this weekend starting tonight (Friday 4:40 PT).

With just 9 games remaining, the (89-64) Blue Jays have the best record in the American League and lead the A.L. East by 3 games over the (86-67) New York Yankees.

NFL: (Start of Week 3)

Buffalo Bills  31  Miami Dolphins  21

The Bills scored the last 10 points of the game to improve to 3-0.

The Dolphins slipped to 0-3.

CFL: 

There are a pair of Friday night games in the CFL to start Week 16 of the season.

(6-7) Montreal visits (5-8) Toronto (4:00 PT) and following that the (6-7) B.C. Lions play the (8-4) Stampeders in Calgary (6:30).

The Lions hold a cross-over playoff spot in the CFL with five regular season games remaining.

B.C. is tied with Winnipeg for 3rd in the West, but the Blue Bombers hold the tiebreaker.

CFL West: Saskatchewan 10-3, Calgary 8-4, Winnipeg 6-7, B.C. 6-7, Edmonton 5-8.
CFL East: Hamilton 8-5, Montreal 6-7, Toronto 5-8, Ottawa 4-9.

BC Football Conference: 

The (4-3-1) Prince George Kodiaks, with two regular season games left in the BC Football Conference, host the (0-7) Kamloops Broncos on Saturday, September 27th before closing on the road in Chilliwack against the Valley Huskers on October 4th.

Prince George is in 3rd place in the 7-team league with the top four to advance to the playoffs.

The BCFC standings: Okanagan 8-0 (clinched first place), Westshore 6-2, P.G. 4-3-1, Vancouver Island 2-4-1, Valley 2-4-1, Langley 2-4-1 and Kamloops 0-7.
