Motorcycle Toy Ride to cruise through Prince George this weekend

Prince George will be in the Christmas spirit on Sunday for this year’s Motorcycle Toy Ride.

The event is broken up into two parts in the day, starting with the motorcycle show and shine from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the parade right after with hundreds of bikes and Santa Claus taking part.

Spokesperson Dave Horton said the donations through the event are important for the Salvation Army.

“We’re telling the public ‘hey, bring a toy’. 60 to 70 per cent of the toys they hand out over Christmas are just from the toy ride.”

“That’s crazy, and so the toy ride matters, and we’re telling people, not just rider, but viewers to show up, drop off a toy, see the biggest motorcycle gathering in the north.”

Horton noted they want new toys in packaging, gift cards, and encourage people to not bring stuffed toys as they get enough from other events.

The Show and Shine will be at the CN Centre, with the parade going down Foothills and up to the Hart.
