CN Centre anniversary celebrations continue through the weekend

After Bryan Adams serenaded a nearly sold out CN Centre last night (Tuesday), the arena’s anniversary party will continue throughout this week and into the weekend.

Sunday, September 28th will mark 30 years to the day the arena opened in Prince George, then known as the Prince George Multiplex.

To celebrate, the City of Prince George is putting on a free event, featuring:

  • Live music
  • Free public skating and equipment rentals sponsored by Architecture 49
  • Free food and drinks (wouldn’t be a 30th celebration without cake!)
  • Visit from Mr. PG
  • Fun games and giveaways

The event is being combined with the City’s Annual International Student Welcome, as well as the Thank You PG Volunteer Appreciation event.

Former City Councillors, the building committee, and suppliers  who were instrumental in making the arena what it is today will be in attendance as well.

Residents won’t have to wait until Sunday to celebrate.

Tomorrow night (Thursday), Corner Gas’ Brent Butt will be headlining a night of comedy in the CN Centre as part of “30 Years of Laughs”.

The following evening, the arena will be welcoming back Cadillac Ranch, along with Fresh Horses.

On Saturday, Trooper will be headlining the 30th Birthday Party, along with the Chevys.
