SD57 positive as budget process and timeline get approval

School District 57 Trustees discussed the 2026-27 budget process and timeline at this evening’s (Tuesday) public board meeting.

In a presentation, dates were given, which shown that the School District is in its early stages of the process.

Chair Craig Brennan said they’re confident they can continue their track record over the last couple years.

“This board’s done a good job of managing the money that’s been available, not looking to the province for additional help.”

“If we get some again that’s just an added bonus. We’ll try to solve these problems in house.”

Budget estimates will be presented during a virtual committee of the whole meeting on February 26th, with the draft on April 14, and public input from April 15th to the 22nd.

The full process and timeline can be found on the agenda here.

Other items discussed included the 2024-25 Statement of Financial Information report, role elections, and class size report.
