B.C. Conservative Leadership candidate Iain Black wrapping up northern tour in PG

B.C. Conservative Leadership candidate Iain Black will be stopping in Prince George later today (Friday).

Black thrown his hat in the ring because of his concerns with the state of the province, and the opportunity to pull together a conservative team to get people on the same page.

Black said he brings a track record of leading people for the better part of 25 years.

“My expertise is actually transformative change, so I would get involved with quite dysfunctional companies that had the wrong strategy, the wrong product, the wrong people.”

“That expertise is what will differentiate me greatly from some of the competitors in the contest, because I combine that with a broad understanding about policy, because I was cabinet minister for two terms.”

Some issues Black has heard from people while in the north include permitting, forestry, and seniors care, which he says are fixable and need immediate action.

He added that if the province doesn’t have the natural resources sector firing on all cylinders, then we don’t have a British Columbia functioning properly and the people across the province doing as well as they can.

Black will be at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club tonight from 6:00 to 8:00, where he’ll talk more about his vision, and have discussions with attendees.
