A handful of games remain in the Spruce Kings first-round series, and Tuesday night was the perfect time to flex their muscles.
For the second night in a row, Prince George blasted out to a 4-0 lead over the Langley Rivermen, coasting to a 6-2 victory in front of 815 fans at the George Preston Arena.
Special teams were piping hot for the Spruce Kings, going 3-for-6 on the power-play.
Lucas Busch opened the floodgates at the 1:42 mark of the second period with Trent LeDrew and Evan Bellamy chipping in with the helpers.

PG doubled its lead less than two minutes later thanks to its reliable checking line. Quesnel’s Carter Hesselgrave collected his first of the post-season from Mason Loewen and River Arnason.
Prince George continued to make Langley netminder Eric Young look mortal against them. Busch collected his second of the period on the man-advantage extending the edge to 3-0.
The middle frame also saw its fair share of bad blood between the Coastal East Division rivals. Mathis Laplante (Spruce Kings) and Cale Colwell (Rivermen) dropped the gloves and chucked the knuckles.
At the 14:01 mark, Rivermen power-forward Paul Wiczek was handed a five-minute major for boarding and was told to hit the showers.
In the third, both teams decided to have the game resemble a track meet. Evan Bellamy got on the board for the Spruce Kings at even strength from Ozbej Rep and Cooper Faughnan.
Harshaan Kalia spoiled the shut bid for PG netminder Colin Reay after lightning the lamp, unassisted at the 3:42 mark.
Spencer Masters restored the four-goal edge three minutes later beating Young to make it 5-1.
Langley’s Darius Bachler got on the scoreboard for the Rivermen, trimming the deficit back down to three.
Ben Vreugdenhil tallied a late power-play goal to add insult to injury.
The BCHL’s Department of Player Safety might want to use Doordash to celebrate Wing Wednesday at the league office.
They will likely have their hands full reviewing the actions of Wiczek as well as a third period charging major from Kalia and a misconduct from Brett Calhoon, likely putting Langley’s forward group in shambles ahead of Game 4.
PG leads the best-of-seven series 2-1 with Wednesday’s matchup set for 7pm at the George Preston Arena. The Spruce Kings outshot the Rivermen 47-25.
Game Five is set for Friday at 7pm from the Kopar Memorial Arena.
