Spruce Kings Reay signs with Edmonton-based Grant MacEwan University

Overage goaltender Colin Reay will be zipping down on Highway 16 to continue on his hockey journey with the Grant MacEwan Griffins next season.

Reay has been with the PG Spruce Kings since part way through the 2024-2025 season, where he went 2-1 with a 2.35 GAA and a .931 save %, before his season ended due to surgery.

This year, Reay went 14-11 with a 3.04 GAA and a .905 save %, plus an additional 2-0 playoff record to date.

Reay is a veteran of over 100 junior games.

“I’m really excited to become a part of the MacEwan Griffins team, University, and organization to further my hockey career. It was an easy choice when they reached out with the great coaches and facilities they have to offer. I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches, and extend a special thanks to the Prince George Spruce Kings organization for all their support throughout my career.”

He is the third Spruce Kings player in the last week to sign with a USPORTS school. The other two were Marcus Lougheed (Guelph) and Carter Hesselgrave (Lakehead).
