Former Cariboo Cougars goalie Griffin Outhouse stopped 39 shots in leading the Victoria Royals to a 2-0 victory over the hometown Prince George Cougars.
It was the second WHL shutout for the 17-year-old rookie from Williams Lake.
The Royals scored both of their goals in the first period before 2,691 fans.
The loss ended the Cougars 10-game home point streak.
The Royals and Cats meet again tonight (Saturday) at CN Centre in the Teddy Bear toss game, the final action prior to the Christmas break.
Only a few hundred tickets are available.
