Cougars “Bear” down and belt the Royals

In front of a near capacity crowd of 5,560 fans, the Prince George Cougars whipped the Victoria Royals 8-2 in the Cats final home game in 2015.

Colby McAuley tallied the Teddy Bear goal at 14:39 of the first period, deflecting a Shane Collins shot, and the Cougars poured it on with three more goals in the 2nd and four more in the 3rd.

Both Chase Witala (1 + 3) and Brad Morrison (2 + 2) notched four points.

Victoria and Prince George are tied for 2nd place in the BC Division and the Western Conference with the Cats holding a game in hand.

The Royals won the Friday game at CN Centre 2-0.

The Cougars and Royals meet again in Victoria December 27th and 28th.

Next home games for the 21-11-1-1 Cougars are January 2nd and 3rd against the Vancouver Giants.
