To the victor go the spoils: Spruce Kings trio named BCHL Three Stars of the Week

Talk about a clean sweep.

Not only did the Prince George Spruce Kings take care of business at home against the Chilliwack Chiefs, but they also had the league’s top three performers.

Today (Monday), the BCHL announced that Ryan Wachtel, Carter Hesselgrave and Marcus Lougheed were the three stars of the week.

Wachtel, who was named the first star registered five points in three games, also tying for the most goals with three.

The Princeton commit has eight points in nine playoff games, just one off the team lead.

Hesselgrave claimed second star honours with two goals and three assists.

The Quesnel product is tied for fourth in playoff scoring with nine points in nine games.

Last but certainly not least is Lougheed who registered one goal and four assists.

He chipped in with a trio of helpers in Saturday’s 7-2 win against the Chilliwack Chiefs.

The Spruce Kings lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 and are back in action Tuesday and Wednesday for Games 3 and 4 in the Fraser Valley.

Puck drop for both games is 7pm.
