Police in Prince George are bringing the Law Enforcement Torch Run to the community on Thursday.

This year’s event is going back to its roots with Law Enforcement Personnel and Special Olympics athletes and their families joining together for an awareness walk that starts and ends at the Prince George RCMP Detachment on Victoria Street.

“We would be thrilled to see people lining the route as we walk (or run, skip, hop- you name it) through the city. Bring out your enthusiasm and support as we join our Special Olympics athletes in this event,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, one of the organizers for this year’s Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The run will be leaving the local detachment at 3:00 p.m. and anticipate the event will last approximately one hour.
