School District 57 breaks ground on Austin Road childcare facility

A new childcare centre in the Hart is one step closer to reality.

According to School District 57, their 62-space facility located on 4543 West Austin Road is set to begin construction this month.

Completion on the facility is anticipated in the summer of 2027.

Once built, the centre will house children ranging in age from under 36 months to those who are school-aged.

“SD57 is pleased to see progress being made on the critical need for childcare in Prince George. This centre will provide much needed space in the Hart area. We look forward to the progress and completion of this project in 2027.” said Jameel Aziz, School District 57 Superintendent and CEO.
