Prince George welcomes first baby of 2016

The Bajic family is now ten little toes bigger.

The birth of Ellie Marie Bajic was a special one, as she is the first baby to be born in Northern BC in 2016.

Ellie was born at UHNBC on January 1 at 1:25 am, to mom Kayla Bajic and dad David Bajic, weighing in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce.

She is also welcomed by an older sister.

The first baby born in British Columbia is a boy delivered at Surrey Memorial Hospital at 12:15 a.m. on January 1, 2016.

Prince George City Council has decided to wait for more information before making a decision on hosting watch parties for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.At Wednesday's meeting, City Council discussed a notice of motion put forward by Councillors Ron Polillo and Cori Ramsay, directing staff to work with a few local organizations to plan and execute outdoor watch parties to be held at Canada Games Plaza.
