Williams Lake RCMP investigate alleged shooting

RCMP are investigation an alleged shooting in the Glendale area of Williams Lake.

Residents in the area have reported hearing what sounded like firecrackers going off, and seeing a number of vehicles fleeing the area.

Police haven’t confirmed a shooting has occurred, but members of the North District Major Crime Unit are on scene.

RCMP blocked off Mackenzie Avenue between Boundary and Maple Street Saturday afternoon, and it’s expected to stay this way through to Sunday evening.

An RCMP spokesperson says they will not comment on the case until later today, or Monday morning.
