WestJet continues Calgary flight through winter

Those enjoying direct flights to Calgary from Prince George through WestJet can count on them throughout the winter.

It’s been announced that WestJet will continue the direct flights for the winter and beyond.

Prince George Airport spokeswoman Lindsay Cotter says there are many benefits to having these flights during the winter months.

“It gets people out east a lot quicker. It also opens up the sun market quite substantially, as there are a lot of connections out of Calgary to sun destinations.”

Cotter says in October however WestJet will be downgrading the service to a Q400 aircraft, which seats 78, as that’s more what the loads are looking like.

The flight will still leave Prince George at 6am, but return at 11:10pm.
