Athletes and coaches from northern B.C. will be making their way to Medicine Hat this weekend for the 2026 Special Olympic Canada Summer Games.

Special Olympics Prince George is hoping the public will line the Airport sidewalks with signs, pom poms, smiles, and community spirit for the participants.

Athlete Leadership Council member Shirley Bond said “This is our chance to show our athletes how proud we are and remind them they have an entire community cheering them on.”

The gathering will be at the Prince George Airport on Sunday, starting at approximately 8:00 a.m., with the Summer Games taking place on Tuesday until Saturday, August 15th.
