One word to describe last night’s (Saturday) Prince George Kodiaks game? Outmatched.
After the overwhelming 75-0 loss to the BC Football Conference’s top team, the Langley Rams, it became very apparent the Kodiaks have a lot of work ahead of them.
The Rams were in the driver’s seat once their offence hit the field, and with the help from their quarterback Darryl Overstreet Jr., they nabbed 20 points in the first quarter, and ended the first half up 54-0 before a few hundred fans at Masich Place Stadium.
It didn’t get a whole lot easier for the Kodiaks defence, trailing by 68 at the end of the third.
The Rams, who missed the playoffs last year with a 2-7-1 record, are an impressive 4-0 this year, having outscored their opponents 233-29.
The Kodiaks end their three-game homestand with a 1-2 record, and are scheduled to travel to Kelowna for Saturday’s matchup against the Okanagan Sun (2-1), which begins their three game road trip.
The Sun are currently in a three-way tie for second in the league.
Kodiaks currently sit fifth in the standings, leading by two points over the Valley Huskers and Kamloops Broncos.
