According to a social media post from the city, Fire Chief Bryan Burleigh, Officer Kip Skaar and Deputy Chief Clay Sheen were deployed by the BC Wildfire Service over the past month to assist with the series of blazes in the south.
In addition, emergency management staff including Tanya Spooner and Kyle McGhee were deployed by the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness to support evacuees.
