Murder charge laid in connection with 2018 homicide investigation in Quesnel

A second-degree murder charge has been laid in connection with the 2018 homicide of 31-year old Rodney Clement in Quesnel.

Clement was dropped off at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital suffering from significant injuries on November 8, 2018.

He died as a result of injuries, and investigators determined that his death was the result of foul play.

The E Division Major Crime Special Projects Unit has continued to pursue this investigation, with support from the Quesnel RCMP, North District Major Crime Unit, and specialized police units from throughout the province.

The BC Prosecution Service has now approved a charge against 54-year old Shane Edison Fralic of Quesnel, in connection with Clement’s death.

Superintendent Bal Hansra, Acting Officer in Charge of E Division Major Crime, says “for nearly eight years our investigators have remain committed to seeking answers in Rodney Clement’s death. This charge reflects the dedication and perseverance of those involved in the investigation and our ongoing commitment to pursuing justice for victims and their loved ones.”
