New Brunswick man severely injured Hart Highway hit-and-run remains in Vancouver hospital

The victim of a late-night hit and run on the Hart Highway continues to fight for his life in hospital.

38-year-old Craig Dorey sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted from Prince George to Vancouver following the August 9th incident.

Originally from New Brunswick, Dorey sustained a long list of ailments including compound breaks to his arms and legs, several broken ribs which have punctured his lungs and collapsed and lost his spleen.

In addition, his intestines had to be removed; his C1 Vertebra has been defused from his spine, due to swelling and infections with the doctors unable to attempt the repairs.

Dorey has developed pneumonia, Sepsis and abscesses in is stomach.

In our original story, the Prince George RCMP stated they are on the lookout for an early 2000’s Ford F150 Supercrew, that is a two-tone navy and grey with aftermarket running boards and oversized tires.

According to a GoFundMe page, medical professionals will need to perform more surgeries and skin grafts.

Over $1100 has been raised so far to support expenses.

Anyone with information about the truck, or who may have footage of the incident, is asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
