T-Wolves MSOC scratch and claw to tie against MacEwan

In just his second season in Canada West, Kaiden Young is looking like a grizzled veteran.

The Prince George product rippled the onion bag for the third time in 2026 as the UNBC Timberwolves earned a 2-2 tie Friday afternoon in Edmonton against the MacEwan Griffins.

Young capitalized on a defensive mishap from Griffin’s goalkeeper Kaleb Lutz for his 3rd of the season in the 77th minute putting the T-Wolves in the driver’s seat.

If only it stayed that way.

Adam Dasouki replied four minutes later for MacEwan evening up the score and foiling any sort of plans for a jovial UNBC celebration in the City of Champions.

The Griffins opened the scoring in the 21st minute courtesy of Felix Guite, beating Timberwolves goalkeeper Callum Cuthbert.

Pipejn van der Ende put UNBC back on even terms as his penalty kick beat Lutz. The Timberwolves were awarded the golden opportunity after Benjamin Thiel was given a yellow card in the 73rd minute.

UNBC improves to 0-3-4 on the campaign while MacEwan is O-6-1.

Cuthbert and Lutz each made five saves for their respective schools.

The Timberwolves continue their Alberta road trip Sunday in Lethbridge (3-2-1) against the Pronghorns at Noon Pacific.
