Mitchell Lukoni will be seeking the Prince George-Valemount seat in the B.C. Legislature as OneBC’s candidate.
Lukoni, born and raised in Prince George, holds a Bachelor of General Studies from Athabasca University, with concentrations in psychology and political philosophy. He has also volunteered as a UNBC Faculty of Science and Engineering student senator, and in child and family grief support with the PG Hospice Palliative Care Society.
He also has ties working and volunteering with federal Conservative and grassroots conservative movements across the province through years of campaign work, organizing and volunteering.
He currently works as a business, communications, and policy strategist.
“A father, Mitchell believes in small government, accountability, tax cuts, cutting red tape, reviving the resource economy, backing small business, defending families, and putting Northern communities — not Victoria bureaucracy — first,” his candidate profile on OneBC’s website says.
Lukoni joins incumbent Conservative MLA Rosalyn Bird and NDP candidate Carol Bourque as candidates in the riding so far.
General voting day for the provincial election is set for October 24.
