Thunderbirds put a Bow on their victory

The Seattle Thunderbirds exploded with four unanswered goals in the third period to skunk the Prince George Cougars 4-0 before 2,362 fans at CN Centre.

Landon Bow stopped 26 shots for the shutout and Cavin Leth tallied the first two goals of the game, including the winner at 13 seconds of the third.

The Cougars were penalized three times for too many men on the ice, with the last one costing them a power play goal.

The teams split the doubleheader as P.G. won on Tuesday 6-2.

The Cats have split 9 of their 13 doubles against the same opponent this season.

The 26-16-1-1 Cougars are tied with Victoria for second place (54 points after 44 games), five points ahead of Kamloops and the Blazers have two games in hand.

The Cougars visit Vancouver Saturday and Kelowna Tuesday before hosting Kamloops January 22nd and 23rd.
