Police cruiser involved in early morning crash on Highway 16

Prince George Mounties are on the scene of a two-vehicle collision involving a police car and a transport vehicle, which has closed Highway 16 at Tabor Lake Road East.

The crash occurred this morning (Wednesday).

The two individuals who were under arrest and being transported by the police officer have been taken to the hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services with what are believed to be non-serious injuries.

Neither the police officer nor the driver of the transport truck suffered significant injury.

“Investigators are being assisted by the RCMP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (CARS). The highway, which has been shut down since the incident occurred, should be reopening around 10:00 a.m.,” stated Corporal Jennifer Cooper, BCRCMP spokesperson for Northern B.C.

The file remains under investigation. Further details may be released as they become available.
