After a convincing sweep over the Kamloops Blazers by scores of 9-4 Friday and 6-1 Saturday, the Prince George Cougars play their third home game in four nights when they entertain the Medicine Hat Tigers this evening (Monday).
The Cougars, who have scored 25 goals in their last four games, are a solid third in the B.C. Division, three points behind Victoria, nine back of Kelowna and nine ahead of Kamloops.
The (18-25-3-1) Tigers have struggled on their 4-game B.C. Division trip going 0-3 and outscored 16-3.

The Major Midget Cariboo Cougars had an 11 game league win streak end following a split with the Valley West Hawks in Richmond.
Cariboo took the opener 9-4 Saturday before Valley West came back with a 3-1 victory.
The (22-7-3) Cougars are tied for first place with the (23-6-1) Hawks in the BCMML, although Valley West has two games in hand.
Cariboo will entertain the (4-24-2) Kootenay Ice Saturday night at 7:15 and Sunday morning at 9:15 at Kin 1.

The Northern Capitals female midget triple A hockey team won all three games on the road over the Fraser Valley Rush: 1-0 Friday and 3-1 both Saturday and Sunday.
The Prince George based Capitals are in 2nd place with a 19-5-3 record, three points behind the Greater Vancouver Comets.
The Caps conclude the regular season with home games against the 4th place (11-14-2) Vancouver Island Seals Feb.19th to 21st.

The Prince George Spruce Kings host Chilliwack Thursday and Merritt Saturday as they continue their 9-game home-stand.
The (11-31-3-1) Spruce Kings have lost their last three after they were beaten by the Langley Rivermen 5-2 Friday and 5-4 Thursday in double overtime.
With just 12 games left, Prince George is a whopping 19 points behind the Coquitlam Express for the final playoff spot in the Mainland Division.

Karla Thompson of Kamloops crushed six-time provincial champ Kelly Scott of Kelowna 11-3 to capture the B.C. Scotties ladies curling championship in Coquitlam.
2015 provincial champion Patti Knezevic of Prince George failed to qualify for the playoffs after finishing 2-5 in the round robin.
Thompson will head to Grande Prairie, Alta., but will have to play in the pre-qualifier stage with the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut (Feb. 18th to 20th) before reaching the main round of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts (Feb.20-28).

The UNBC Timberwolves men’s basketball team has lost seven straight after dropping a pair to the UBCO Heat; 72-50 Friday and 78-64 Saturday.
UBCO also beat the Lady Timberwolves twice; 57-52 Friday and 71-42 Saturday.
With six Canada West basketball games left, UNBC is 3-11 in the Explorer Division men’s division and 2-12 in the women’s standings.
The Timberwolves play at TRU in Kamloops Feb. 5th and 6th, host Mount Royal Feb. 12th and 13th and visit MacEwan Feb. 19th and 20th.
