Downtown Prince George a "buzz" with activity this afternoon

Downtown Prince George was a buzz with activity this afternoon.

A swarm of bees were loose on George Street, with the majority of them near the Ramada Hotel.

Beekeeper Gerald Bomford was called in by RCMP to help wrangle the bees and says it appears a bee hive dropped out of a tree and someone ran over it.

Bomford says an original bee colony can have between 60-80,000 bees in it.

The bees didn’t cause any traffic jams or delays, but RCMP were in the area patrolling the scene.
