In a highly anticipated rematch from last year’s Prince George high school senior boys City Final, the Duchess Park Condors turned the tables on the PGSS Polars winning this year’s title 86-62 at the Northern Sport Centre.
Duchess Park was led offensively by the likes of Jasper Yutuc and Colburn Pearce.
Yutuc says with 8 seniors on the squad it was crucial for the team to win it all.
“It was very important from last year to redeem ourselves and to also win it for our coach Matt Pearce.”
Despite being in just Grade 10, Pearce put on an impressive display and says they simply wore out the Polars after a fast-paced 1st half.
“We just kept pushing and got easy fast break points and disrupted their offence.”
The Condors held a 41-37 lead at recess before going on a 45-25 run the final 20 minutes.
