Temporary lighting has been installed at Prince George’s Tyner Boulevard.
City Council agreed to lease the street lights from BC Hydro back in December.
Mayor Lyn Hall says the road was constantly under fire from residents.
“It was a stretch of road where a lot of residents said we needed to do something about, we also have a pedestrian walk-way that parallels Tyner and what we have now sheds some light on the pathway.”
The installation means Tyner Boulevard has become a major road in the city due to it’s easy access to UNBC, College Heights and Westgate.
Permanent lighting will be put in place once the road becomes four lanes.
