UPDATE: Targeted shooting in Moore’s Meadow

UPDATE 4:15pm:

Prince George RCMP now believe the adult female was the victim of a targeted shooting. Police are asking anyone that may have been in the area of Moore’s Meadow along Foothills Boulevard between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM on Monday February 15th, to contact investigators at 250-561-3300.

Just after 5:00 AM this morning, police received a report of a female with serious injuries in the Moore’s Meadow area. An adult female victim known to police was found shortly afterwards off Foothills Boulevard. The victim remains in serious but stable condition.

Police have recently reopened a portion of Foothills Boulevard from 1st Avenue to Otway Road, which was closed in order to protect evidence. Moore’s Meadow Park will be reopened before 6:00 PM.

The Prince George RCMP are confirming a violent assault of a female in the Moore’s Meadow area this morning.

Corporal Craig Douglass says the woman is in serious but stable condition.

A stretch of Foothills Boulevard between 1st avenue and Otway Road is closed and will remain that way until further notice.

The assault took place just before 5 o’clock.

Police continue to search for the suspect and believe the incident was isolated.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and take an alternate route.
