Don Zurowski running for mayor

Don Zurowski is running for mayor.

The former city councillor announced this morning his intentions to run for the upcoming November election.

Zurowski’s focus is on economic development and infrastructure.

“There’s certainly economic opportunities, but it’s the time to focus on the community needs before wants. There’s a gap in our infrastructure investment in curating roads, sidewalks, and sewer and water. I want to make certain that we invest appropriately to get in front of that need.”

Zurowski says while something like the performing arts centre is the next major recreational facility the city needs to build, they need to address that after they “get in front of the infrastructure investment deficits”.

Zurowski served as councillor from 1999 until 2008, when he lost the mayoral race to Dan Rogers.
