Maria Mongomo’s first season in Canada did not go unnoticed.
She was named to Canada West’s All-Rookie Team on Monday after finding a place in the UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team starting lineup this year.
Mongomo’s 17.5 points per game were good for third in Canada West scoring along with seven rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
She is joined by Fraser Valley forward Taylor Claggett, UBC guard Jessica Hansen, Lethbridge guard Katie Keith, and Alberta forward Brooklyn Legault.
The Canada West conference will announce its Rookie of the Year on Wednesday.
