UPDATE: Search continues on Salmon River

The search continues for two missing Prince George men who went missing along with Salmon River on Monday.

Dale Bull with the Prince George Search and Rescue says other units are assisting.

“We were helped by other units like the Pilot Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and Salmon Valley Volunteer Fire Department. The search resumed Tuesday morning and will continue.”

Prince George RCMP initially attended and found that a group of snowmobilers were on the ice or going through the water when one man fell though the ice or fell into the river. Two other men jumped into to rescue him, but only one managed to get out. Prince George Search & Rescue was called out along with a helicopter. The helicopter assisted until nightfall, while trained ground searchers checked the shores and the ice until midnight.

The missing men are aged 31 and 36, both of Prince George.
