The 2015-16 BCHL season marked the first time the Prince George Spruce Kings sold beer at their home games.
Team President, Tom Bohmer says the new venture slowly picked up steam. “Right off the bat, we sold between 10 to 20 beer at our games which we expected and then at the final home game against Surrey we sold about a 100.”
Bohmer adds he’s happy to report there were no alcohol-related incidents. “It just goes to show you our community and fans can handle a drink responsibly and still enjoy a hockey game.”
The Spruce Kings were the last BCHL club given a liquor license.
City council stamped their approval in October.
