Prince George Public Library unveils private study rooms at downtown branch

Looking for a quiet spot close to downtown to study or get some work done? The Prince George Public Library has you covered.

Two private study rooms have been unveiled on the second floor of the Bob Harkins branch downtown. Library communications coordinator Amy Dhanjal describes the library latest amenity:

“The rooms can fit up to 6 people and you can book them for up to two hour increments online. They’re a great private space if you need to go somewhere where you don’t have any distractions.”

Dhanjal says the rooms are great for students living downtown as well as professionals looking for a place to work on further accreditation or upgrading. She says the rooms were built following feedback from library users and the general public.

“Over the summer, the library did extensive community consultation and one of the things people told us quite often was that they need some private study space downtown.”

The rooms are open for use to everyone – you don’t even need a library membership to reserve one. Dhanjal says the library is committed to access for all.

“The Prince George Public Library is about accessibility and we want everyone to feel welcome regardless of whether or not they have a library card.”

You can reserve a room for yourself or your study group via the library’s website.
