Property in the Hart targeted for remedial action

lots
The City of Prince George has set its sights on another property for remedial action.

Next week council will consider ordering the demolition of a rotting mobile home in the Hart at 3907 Richet Street.

The roof has been falling in on the home since last summer and the owner of the property, Attila Homes Ltd, has resisted orders to demolish or repair the structure.

The bylaw first clean-up notice was issued on July 20th 2015, with several others following with each missed deadline. A report to council shows that the principal shareholder in Attila Homes, Attila Meszaros, repeatedly misled City of Prince George staff on his progress of demolishing the structure.

If approved, this will be the fifth such remedial action order initiated by this Mayor and council, who have pledged to clean up derelict properties around the city.

Council is expected to set a final deadline for the demolition to take place, if the owner does not comply the city will move in with contractors and bill the property owners, which took place with the Lombardi Trailer Park and downtown Laundromat building last year.
