The RCMP has requested the Independent Investigation Office of BC look into last month’s now public arrest which was caught on camera in a VLA alleyway.
Video surveillance footage was leaked to Global News that showed RCMP officers using high levels of force to extract now charged suspect Cuyler Aubichon from a stolen pickup on the early morning of February 18th 2016.
In a statement, the RCMP says they “take concerns about member conduct very seriously” and immediately launched a review into the matter.
Today the RCMP asked the IIO to formally investigate the matter. The IIO has agreed and the investigation has been authorized by the Director of Police Services.
The Prince George RCMP will “maintain conduct” of the initial investigation relating to the stolen property.
