Thanks to a strong El Nino during the winter, golf season in Prince George is upon us.
Assistant Course Superintendant with the PG Golf and Curling Club, Don McDermid says a part of the course was open to the public this past weekend.
“We are probably two weeks ahead of our average schedule. The driving range opened on the weekend and the course should open around April 1st this year.”
Interest in the game has always been strong in PG according to McDermid. “There is always a pent-up demand for golf in Prince George after watching it all winter so there’s lots of energy in the year when people come out.”
Due to the early start, the club believes it will get additional use from its members.
