You may find Shakespeare more interesting after Council’s most recent decision.
City Council passed the Playhouse’s liquor license application on Monday night. You can now enjoy a drink while watching a performance – or anywhere in the building for that matter – not just while you’re standing in the lobby.
Mayor Lyn Hall says positive feedback from other venues helped Council make its decision.
“We haven’t seen problems at the CN Centre or Rolling Mix Concrete arena, and I think it’s just evolution, he says, “people ask for this kind of thing, you want to provide the kind of service, and that’s what’s happening at the Playhouse.”
Liquor will only be sold at “19+” shows and events.
