Three smash and grab burglaries on Victoria Street

Two people are in custody and a warrant is being prepared for a third following a trio of smash and grab break and enters early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the 1900 block of Victoria Street just before 4am on March 22nd by an alarm company.

On arrival officers found that the suspects had thrown a brick or rock through the front glass windows of three businesses. They stole money, food and retail items.

The owner of Shagg Romance Centre Michael Pocket says about $400 in merchandise was stolen from his store, while the window will cost about $1500 to replace. He says his video surveillance system captured high quality footage of three men aged 18-25. “It’s frustrating as a retailer, that there’s not much we can do about it. If they are caught they usually get a slap on the wrist”

The Prince George RCMP say the next day investigators identified three suspects involved in the crimes. Two are in custody and will face multiple charges, while police are seeking an arrest warrant for the third.
